Aspherical Lenses
Compared to spherical lenses, the complex surface profile of aspherical surfaces can significantly reduce or even eliminate spherical aberration. Aspheres can replace complex multi-component spherical systems to achieve lighter and more compact optical systems. The resulting designs have higher transmittance and in most cases cost less than multi-lens spherical designs, especially in mass production.
As a result, aspheres are increasingly being used in industrial high-power lasers, imaging, and high-precision laser alignment and measurement systems.
