Beta-Barium Borate (β-BaB2O4, BBO) Crystals

BBO is an attractive nonlinear optical crystal with a number of unique features, including a wide range of transparency from VUV to IR. Kriwave supplies crystal lengths from 0.02mm to 25mm with various apertures and coatings.
These are widely used in
1. Second, third, fourth and fifth harmonic generation of Nd:YAG and Nd:YLF lasers
2. Sum frequency of dye, argon, ultrafast pulse, Ti:sapphire, and alexandrite lasers
3. OPO, OPA, OPCPA
4. E/O switching for Pockels cells 

Advantage:

      •   Broad phase matchable range from 409.6 nm to 3500 nm

      •   Wide transmission region from 190 nm to 3500 nm

      •   Large effective second-harmonic-generation (SHG) coefficient about 6 times greater than that of KDP  crystal

      •   High damage threshold

      •   High optical homogeneity with δn ≈10-6/cm

     •    Wide temperature-bandwidth of about 55℃
